オバマ氏、大変だ。

なんでも、議会で演説してる最中に妨害されるなんて前代未聞とか。しかも、うそつき発言をした議員は、オバマ氏が「不法移民に自動的に医療保険を付与することはない」って言ってるそばから嘘だ!って叫んだんだってさ。人の話聞けないのかね。
そいで、こうしてオバマ氏に感情的に反発してる人達は、心の底では差別意識を抱えてるんじゃないかって、NYTimesのコラムニストはいうんだ。

“In South Carolina politics, I learned that the olive branch works very seldom,” he said. “You have to come at these things from a position of strength. My father used to say, ‘Son, always remember that silence gives consent.’ ”

ウイルソン氏の驚くべき大統領への侮辱-ブッシュ氏がイラク戦争開戦の理由をでっちあげているときでさえ、民主党員で彼を「うそつき」呼ばわりする人はいなかった。この一件で私は、黒人が大統領であることを受け入れることができない人たちがいることを確信した。サウスカロライナ代表の一員である、ジム・クライバーン議員が言うには「こうした暴発は、オバマ氏の大統領としての正当性を損なうものだ」。クライバーン氏は、かつてビル・クリントン氏が予備選でオバマ氏の人種に触れた発言を非難し、今はウイルソン氏を訴追するようペロシ議長に求めている。「サウスカロライナでは、平和的な解決はうまくいかない。強圧的でないと解決しない。父は良くいったものだ。『沈黙は同意とみなされる』と」
