フランス政府、ロマ排除にのりだす
近頃金銭問題で人気低迷気味のためか、サルコジ大統領がこんな方針を打ち出した。France to shut illegal Roma camps and deport migrants - BBC News
French President Nicolas Sarkozy has ordered 300 illegal camps of travellers and Roma to be dismantled.
People in the camps found to be living illegally in France would be expelled, he said.
The order is a response to riots last week in which travellers attacked police in a Loire Valley town after a youth was shot dead.
The government said the camps are sources of crime but critics say an ethnic minority is being singled out.
サルコジ大統領は、ロマなどの不法移民による約３００のキャンプを解体するように指示した。これらのキャンプで不法滞在している者は強制送還される。これは先週、若者が射殺された事件の後で警察署が渡り者らに襲撃された一件を受けての命令である。政府は、キャンプが犯罪の温床になっているというが、少数民族を迫害しているとの批判もあがっている。
この事件ていうのが、警察の検問を振り切ろうとしたジプシーの若者を警察が射殺したんだな。

Last week, Mr Sarkozy declared a "war on crime", referring in part to the gipsy incident and also to unrelated riots in a poor suburb of Grenoble, southeastern France.
"If Nicolas Sarkozy repeats his declaration of war, (we) will be prompted to take legal action for incitement to racial hatred," the Gipsy association's lawyer said.
"What is happening is extremely serious: for the first time since the end of the Second World War, we are witnessing a policy of a racial nature," he added.
Brice Hortefeux, the interior minister, said there was no question of singling out a "community in its entirety".
But, he added: "Must we put our head in the sand?... There are, in this community, (types of) behaviour that are unacceptable". The "problems" were the same in both ethnic Roma and Gipsy communities, he said, either nomadic or sedentary.
Gipsies and rights groups have accused the government and local communities of discrimination, as roughly half of French towns have failed to create a specific area to house travellers, despite a 2000 law ordering them to do so.

あ〜あ〜こんなふうに特定の集団を悪者にして、治安の改善に取り組んでるふりをするのは、実にばかばかしいね。まつろわぬ者を排除すると、一時的にすっきりした気分を味わえるってか。そもそも、なんで犯罪が横行するのかっていったら、やっぱ貧困とかが第一の理由で、食べていくための手段なんでは？自分が犯罪しない理由、それはしない方が得だから。犯罪なんて、下手したら死んじゃったりするかもしれないリスキーな行為ジャン。やらずに済むならしないのが「合理的」人間でしょ。もし特定の集団が「生まれながらに犯罪大好きで、犯罪することなんか何でもない」とちょっとでも思ってるなら、それはあなたがステキなレイシストさんだからですYO!もし「日本人は生まれながらにしてハラキリが大好きで、ハラキリすることがなんでもない」なんて言われたら、すっげーむかつくと思いませんか。
ま、サルコジ氏はいろんな意味でオワタな。
